Grape Harvest Time

Fall is our favorite time of the year.   The days are very pleasant, usually in the 65-75 degree range, with cooler nights in the high 50’s and low 60’s.   We open our windows at night and enjoy the great sleeping weather.   The leaves are turning late this year and soon a beautiful display of colors will be everywhere.   Looking across the lake will become a spectacular view.   Although our season is slowing down, it is a busy time for the wineries.   Each winery has to determine the ripeness of their grapes and then make the decision regarding the best time to pick.   They pick the grapes, both mechanically and by hand, sorting the grapes and then making the wine for the next season.   It always brings me joy seeing the picking process, knowing that 2016 will be another year of premium wine.
