This year, Seneca Lake is at the highest level that it has been in years. The long winter has caused a lot of snow melt, and when that is combined with the water that is released from Keuka Lake and the fact that about 365,000 gallons a minute normally flows into Seneca Lake from the surrounding streams, the result is high water on our lake. It eventually is released into Lake Ontario through the canal system, but that is done very gradually to prevent erosion and flooding along the canals. We are very glad we had our dock built high. Our spring guests will get to see some spectacular waterfalls this year.
