From the Kitchen of The Pearl of Seneca Lake B & B

 

White Bread

 

 

Heat till lukewarm about 110 deg:

            2 ¼ cup milk

            1 ½ tsp salt

            2 tbsp vinegar

            1 tbsp melted butter

 

 

Add and mix:

            1 cup all purpose flour or bread flour

            2 ¼ tsp powdered yeast

 

Continue adding 4-5 cups flour and knead with mixer or by hand for 8 minutes.

 

Place in greased bowl, cover and let rest for 1 hour. Punch the dough down and let rest for another 15 minutes.

 

Butter 2 loaf pans and divide and place dough into the pans with the seam on the underside. Let rise for about 1-1 ½ hour.

 

When dough has doubled, mist or brush with water and bake in 355 deg oven for 35 minutes. Remove from pans and cool on wire rack.
